East Fork Gallery at Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus, 300 Trinity Campus Circle, will open for its premiere exhibition Sat., Nov. 21, at 11 a.m.
The exhibit, "Ron A. Cheek and the Texas Academy of Figurative Art: Paintings & Drawings," will run through Jan. 30 and feature works by notable figurative artist Ron A. Cheek and students of The Texas Academy of Figurative Art, founded by Cheek in 2007 to offer an alternative art education. Cheek, whose work is influenced by masters of the European Renaissance, is often referred to as a "master of the human figure." He currently resides in Fort Worth and has traveled and exhibited throughout the United States and Europe.
The opening reception at East Fork Gallery will include a talk by Cheek at 11:30 a.m. and a complimentary light brunch. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Future exhibits will include work by local, regional and national artists, as well as faculty and students. All gallery events will be free and open to the public.
