Credit vs. Non Credit

TCC offers two types of classes, college credit and non credit.

College Credit Courses

College credit courses apply toward college and university degrees. In addition, developmental courses are offered to prepare students for college-level coursework. Course credits are measured in semester hours.

*Developmental courses are listed on the student's transcript but are not calculated with grade point average (GPA).

Non Credit Courses

Continuing Education non credit courses are not offered for college credit, but in many cases continuing education units (CEUs) are awarded. Community members can take courses for GED preparation, improve job skills or for personal enrichment.
