Math Developmental Studies

Career Coach buttonMath Developmental Studies courses are designed for students who

  • Need additional preparation to be successful in ACCT 2301, MATH 1314, MATH 1316, MATH 1324, MATH 1325, MATH 1332 and MATH 1342
  • Did not pass the math portion of the ACCUPLACER, THEA, ASSET, or COMPASS

Emphasis is placed on improving knowledge of basic arithmetic operations, including percents, proportions, statistical graphics, equations and inequalities, and exponential and logarithmic functions.

Modmath is a new alternative to MATH 0302, MATH 0304 and MATH 0350. It is offered in one-hour credit courses which consist of five-week modules. ALEKS assessment test will be required for proper placement into Modmath.

Exiting Developmental Mathematics:

  • Pass math portion of ACCUPLACER with a 64 or higher
  • Complete MATH 0350 with a C or higher
  • Complete level nine of modular mathematics
