The Teacher Education Program prepares students to instruct children in Pre-K through 12th grade. Students who are interested in becoming classroom teachers may choose to pursue an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree, while students who are interested in becoming a teacher's assistant should pursue the Teacher's Assistant Certificate.
The two-year Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) degree provides a foundation for students to transfer to a four-year university for a bachelor's degree leading to teacher certification.
The A.A.T. no longer requires completion of TECA courses for Early Childhood majors; however, TECA courses are still offered for transfer to universities.
Coursework is determined by choosing one of the following specializations:
Courses are offered at Northeast and South Campuses.

The program requires completion of 33 hours of prescribed coursework.
Primarily, courses are offered online and at Northeast Campus. Several courses that are a part of the teacher's assistant certificate program are offered at South Campus as well.
A criminal background check will be required to enroll in any EDUC or TECA course. Students are assessed this $23 fee once every two years.
