The Welding Technology program, offered on South Campus, provides the essential skills and knowledge students need to perform the technical tasks of welding.
Welding technology involves binding products that contain metal, such as automobiles, airplanes, pipelines, railroads, bridges, building structures, heavy machinery and various manufacturing products.
More than 90 different welding processes that require wide variations in equipment are used today.
Students who successfully complete the two-year program earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree. These students are prepared for employment as welding technicians who understand weld inspection processes and are qualified to enter a supervisory position.
Students may also choose to participate in a Certificate of Completion program that can be completed in less time and teaches them the entry-level skills of production welders.
