Early High School / Dual Enrollment (Dual Credit)

Early High School Enrollment (EHS) is a program that allows current high school students to take courses for college credit.

Dual Enrollment (DE), sometimes referred to as Dual Credit, is an additional option for current high school students to earn both high school and college credit for the same course.

Admissions Eligibility:

  • Limited to 11th and 12th grade (junior and/or senior) current high school students
  • Complete all testing requirements
  • EHS Enrollment Form must be approved by the TCC Registrar's Office
  • The TCC course load shall not exceed two (2) courses per semester
  • Only undergraduate credit courses are eligible for dual or concurrent enrollment. High school students are unable to take a developmental course.

To apply for EHS/DE, submit the following:

  1. EHS/DE Application (PDF opens in new window) or apply online.
  2. EHS Enrollment form (PDF opens in new window), signed by high school counselor or principal
  3. Official high school/home school transcript *Home school transcript MUST be notarized.
  4. Official test scores (PDF opens in new window) or take Accuplacer exam, as applicable

NOTE - Registration for EHS/DE courses cannot be completed online. Check with the TCC Dual Credit Coordinator for your campus (listed below) for specific information.

After completing the EHS/DE admissions and registration process:

  1. Verify registration online
    • Login to WebAdvisor
    • Select Students
    • Select My Class Schedule under Academic Links
  2. Pay tuition or confirm payment
  3. Pick up a parking permit, if applicable
  4. Purchase textbooks
For continued eligibility in the program, students must:
  • Earn a minimum grade of "C" in each course attempted.
  • Submit an EHS Enrollment form (PDF opens in new window) each semester. Forms may also be obtained at campus Registrar's offices.

Financial Aid

A financial aid grant is available to Dual Enrollment (dual credit) students with demonstrated financial need for up to 4 semesters and 24 credit hours. To qualify:
  1. Apply for Federal student aid.
  2. Submit the DE Grant form (PDF opens in new window) to the Financial Aid office of the campus on which you are registered.
