The Evelyn Moren Art Scholarship

A scholarship established by Mrs. Evelyn Moren to benefit Tarrant County College students pursuing studies in art at the Northeast Campus.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Must be currently enrolled at Tarrant County College pursuing studies in visual arts with the intent to transfer to a four-year art major degree program.
  • Must attend the Northeast Campus.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 12 hours in visual arts courses (ARTS) by the end of the spring semester before the scholarship is awarded.
  • Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours for period of award (at least 6 of which are visual arts courses, ARTS).
  • Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.75, including a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all visual arts courses.  
  • This is a merit-based scholarship; although determination of financial aid is not required, students are encouraged to file a FAFSA application for other forms of available aid.
  • Recipient will receive a spring scholarship  if a minimum semester GPA of 2.75 is achieved in the fall, while maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in visual arts courses, and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed.

Application Process

  • Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • One letter of recommendation must be from a Northeast Campus art faculty member who has taught the applicant.
  • Applicants must submit to the Northeast Campus Art Department a portfolio of three to five works by the third Thursday of April of the spring semester during which application for scholarship is being made. Applicants should email their intentions of submitting their portfolio to Martha Gordon at martha.gordon@tccd.edu. Portfolios will be returned to the applicant after review.

Scholarship Amount

$500 per semester
