The Ray and Ellen O'Neal Family Scholarship

An endowed scholarship established by Ray and Ellen O'Neal to assist the students of Tarrant County College. Though unable to attend college themselves, they know the value of education and want to help students achieve their dreams. This scholarship is created in honor of the life work and legacy of Mr. and Mrs. Ray O'Neal. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an associate degree or a certificate of completion.
• Must meet federal guidelines for financial need.
• Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours (8 if in nursing program) for period of award.
• Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum GED score of 2750.  
• During the course of the semester, the student must volunteer at least eight hours with a Tarrant County nonprofit organization.
• Recipient will receive a spring scholarship  if a minimum semester GPA of 2.75 is achieved in the fall, a minimum of 9 credit hours (8 if in nursing program) are completed, and signed verification of volunteer service is provided to the Foundation office.

 Application Process

• Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• Complete the current FAFSA for determination of financial need. The financial aid process must be completed by the scholarship deadline.
• First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.
