The Verna Mae McNeill Scholarship for Business Students
An endowed scholarship created in loving memory of Verna Mae McNeill to assist TCC students pursuing careers in the field of business. Mrs. McNeill was a wise and successful businesswoman excelling in real estate and financial investments. She applied her business talents in assisting her husband, John, in opening the Saginaw airport and operating a charter, rental and aircraft maintenance business for 37 years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue a career in the field of business, including but not limited to accounting, banking, economics, finance and real estate.
- Preference is given to applicants who are single head of household.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours for period of award.
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.75, 3.0 desirable, or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum total standard GED score of 2750.
- This is a merit-based scholarship; although determination of financial aid is not required, students are encouraged to file a FAFSA application for other forms of available aid.
- Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum GPA of 3.0 is maintained in the business curriculum and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.
Scholarship Amount
$500 per semester
