The Darlene Marks Scholarship
This talent-based scholarship was established by current and former students of Darlene Marks to reward dedicated students beginning a degree in music.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled at Tarrant County College pursuing studies in music with the intent to transfer to a four-year music major degree program.
- Must have completed a minimum 24 credit hours at TCC.
- Must have successfully completed the following courses: MUSI 1211, MUSI 1212, MUSI 1216, MUSI 1217.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours for period of award.
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.75 including a minimum GPA of 3.0 in music courses.
- This is a merit-based scholarship; although determination of financial aid is not required, students are encouraged to file a FAFSA application for other forms of available aid.
- Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum semester GPA of 2.75 is achieved in the fall, including a minimum GPA of 3.0 in music courses, and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- One letter of recommendation must be secured from a current TCC music professor who can verify ability/talent and performance capabilities.
Scholarship Amount
$500 per semester
