The John Haran Aviation Maintenance Scholarship
A scholarship created in loving memory of John Haran to assist TCC students pursuing careers in aviation maintenance. An avid aviator, Mr. Haran encouraged young people to consider aviation as a career. Scholarship funds are to serve as reimbursement for the expenses incurred in buying tools required for the aviation program.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an Associate of Applied Science Degree or a Certificate of Completion in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours for period of award.
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.75 , 3.0 desirable, or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum total standard GED score of 3000.
- This is a merit-based scholarship; although determination of financial aid is not required, students are encouraged to file a FAFSA application for other forms of available aid.
- Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum semester GPA of 3.0 is achieved in the Aviation Maintenance Technology curriculum in the fall and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.

$500 per semester
