The Nan Dearen Scholarship
A scholarship created for individuals who were once Little Brothers/Little Sisters in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, and named in honor of the former Executive Director of the Fort Worth Branch.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an associate degree or a certificate of completion.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 6 semester hours for period of award.
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum total standard GED score of 2850.
- Must meet federal guidelines for financial need.
- Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 is achieved in the fall and a minimum of 75% of attempted credit hours are completed.
- Recipient will continue to receive a scholarship, for up to two consecutive years for a full-time student or four consecutive years for a part-time student, up to 67 hours if a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 is achieved each semester and a minimum of 75% of attempted credit hours are completed each semester.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Complete the current FAFSA for determination of financial need. The financial aid process must be completed by the scholarship deadline.
- First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.
