The M.S. and Meek Lane Doss Endowed Scholarship
An endowed scholarship fund established by the M.S. Doss Foundation in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Doss. M.S. and Meek Lane Doss were among the first pioneers and settlers in Gaines County active in ranching, banking and oil. Generous to those less fortunate, they held an abiding love for young people and left their life estate to assist charitable youth organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an associate degree.
- Must meet federal guidelines for financial need.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are graduates of a high school located in western Texas anywhere west of a line drawn from Wichita Falls and Laredo, or in southeastern New Mexico.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours for period of award.
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student.
- Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum semester GPA of 2.75 is achieved in the fall and a minimum of 12 credit hours are completed.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Complete the current FAFSA for determination of financial need. The financial aid process must be completed by the scholarship deadline.
- First-time TCC students: an academic transcript, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.
