The Boyd and Quimby Scholarship
An endowed family scholarship established by Jim and Cindy Boyd primarily for TCC students who face two of life's most challenging situations: single parenthood and returning to college. Successful entrepreneurs, the Boyds' philanthropic benevolence focuses on results. They firmly believe that TCC offers students the opportunity to achieve and become successful.
Eligibility Criteria
- Preference is given to applicants who are single head of household and who are trying to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.
- Must meet federal guidelines for financial need.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours (8 if in nursing program) for period of award.
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum total standard GED score of 2850.
- Recipient will receive a spring scholarship if a minimum semester GPA of 2.75 is achieved in the fall and a minimum of 9 credit hours (8 if in nursing program) are completed.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Complete the current FAFSA for determination of financial need. The financial aid process must be completed by the scholarship deadline.
- First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.
Scholarship Amount
$750 per semester
