The AAUW Fort Worth Branch Scholarship

The Fort Worth Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is dedicated to the lifelong education of women and girls and positive societal change.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an associate degree or a certificate of completion in mathematics, nursing, science intensive courses, or any allied health field of study.
  • Women students who are United States citizens and have resided in Tarrant County for at least 12 months are encouraged to apply.
  • Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours (8 hours if in nursing program) for period of award.
  • Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum total standard GED score of 2850.
  • This is a merit-based scholarship; although determination of financial aid is not required, students are encouraged to file a FAFSA application for other forms of available aid.
  • Recipient will continue to receive a scholarship, for up to four semesters, if a minimum GPA of 2.75 is maintained and a minimum of 9 credit hours (8 hours if in nursing program) are completed each semester.

Application Process

  • Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.

Scholarship Amount

$750 per semester

Deadline to Submit Application

The priority deadline is May 4, 2012 at 11:59 p.m.
