The NTA Texas - Doug Harman Scholarship

A scholarship created by Tourism Cares and funded by Dan Dipert to provide financial assistance to dedicated students pursuing a degree in a hospitality-related program.

Eligibility Criteria 

• Must be currently enrolled at Tarrant County College pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Hospitality Management.
• Must attend the Southeast Campus.
• Must have completed a minimum of  30 credit hours by the end of the spring semester before the scholarship is awarded.
• Must be a resident of Texas.
• Must be planning a career in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
• Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours (or three courses) for period of award. 
• Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 3.0.
• This is a merit-based scholarship; although determination of financial aid is not required, students are encouraged to file a FAFSA application for other forms of available aid.
• Recipient will receive a spring scholarship  if a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is maintained and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed.

Application Process

• Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• One reference must be from a professional in the tourism industry.

Scholarship Amount

$500 per semester
