The Dan Echols Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship created in memory of Dan Echols, former instructor at Tarrant County College Northeast Campus.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled at or entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an associate degree or certificate of completion in graphic communication, journalism, or radio/television broadcasting.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours for period of award (at least 6 of which are graphic arts, journalism, or radio/television courses).
- Must have a minimum TCC GPA of 2.5 or high school equivalent if a first-time TCC student or minimum total standard GED score of 2850.
- Preference is given to students who meet federal guidelines for financial need.
- Recipient will continue to receive a scholarship, for up to four semesters, if a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 is achieved each semester and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed each semester.
Application Process
- Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Complete the current FAFSA for determination of financial need. The financial aid process must be completed by the scholarship deadline.
- First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.
Scholarship Amount
$250 per semester
