The BNSF Opportunity Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the BNSF Foundation to encourage and reward students who are members of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth and/or Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas.

Eligibility Criteria 

• Must be entering Tarrant County College with the intent to pursue an associate degree or certificate of completion.
• Must be an active participant in the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth or Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas or have been/currently are a "Little" in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
• Must be a resident of Tarrant County.
• Must enroll in a minimum of 9 semester hours for period of award. 
• Must have a minimum TCC GPA of a 2.5 or high school GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Must meet federal guidelines for financial need.
• Recipient will receive a spring scholarship  if a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 is achieved in the fall and a minimum of 9 credit hours are completed.

Application Process

• Complete the TCC Foundation scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• Complete the current FAFSA for determination of financial need. The financial aid process must be completed by the scholarship deadline.
• First-time TCC students: an academic transcript or GED scores, if applicable. Submit to the Foundation office.

$750 per semester
Up to 20 scholarships available
